OUR MOTIVATION
AND
BELIEF

The Least of Mine, Inc. (aka TLOM) was founded on the teaching of Jesus Christ, documented in the book of Matthew 25:40, saying “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” The teaching encourages people of all ages, genders, races, ethnicity, and religious affinity to looking out for one another, especially the weak or people of low repute in the society.

TLOM is guided by various principles, religious beliefs, and a basic understanding of the need for everyone to have the opportunity to live a simple and dignifying life. The following are some of our foundational beliefs and drivers:

1. All mankind, irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, or gender, were created by God in His image and likeness.

Genesis 1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” …..So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

2. Everyone in the image of God deserves respect, love, honor, and appreciation. The psalmist says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. .. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!”.

Leviticus 19 “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”

3. God is love. His love towards all is irrevocable or without repentance whether an individual is identified as a Jew, Gentile, Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist, etc.

John 3 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

1 John 4 “ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”

4. God is good. There is no limit to the extent of His benevolence. God does not condemn but patiently waits for everyone that wanders away to come back to Him. The book of Chronicles says “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”

Psalm 145 “The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.”

5. Abundance is for good work. The book of Corinthians says “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”

Proverbs 3 “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.”
